Krabi (VI) - Magical beach at Maya Bay

Phi Phi Island, here we go!!! First of all, you should be clear how to pronounce this name. Some people pronounce it as Fi Fi, it is spelled and confusing and superfluous. In fact, it is pronounced with only half P sound. Phi Phi Island consists by two islands which is Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh. Well, will go deeper in next few blog.

Phi Phi Islands is no doubt a tourist spot as well as a tropical paradise. Also, the highlight of this excursion and the star attraction here.. the prominent Hollywood film, THE BEACH was shot here (Maya Bay, one of the island located in Phi Phi Don), which was filmed starring Leonardo Di Caprio. I haven't watch this movie and thus i am not able to comment on how much the bay ad changed in a decade's time.

We have bought the speedboat ticket heading to Phi Phi Island by taking the Phi Phi Island hopping, with a day before. Oh yeah, speedboat is much more FASTER!!! This morning, we get all luggage well packed and waiting the mini bus send us to the pier.. We are not complete that tour because we will stay at Phi Phi Island on that night.

Visit for the first spot .. MAYA BAY..!! Yahooooo!!!! It is fascinating thanks to the myth, a well kept secret of backpackers, the story of an idyllic and photogenic beach, invisible to the naked eye, totally unspoiled by rocky peaks. Anyhow, it is no longer secluded hideaway for the adventurous paradise seekers and it's bad it is quite crowd actually. I prefer, there is noone at the beach, i guess...? The busiest time for the view that sharing the beach with so many other sightseers is a minor inconvenience to enjoy such stunning natural surroundings. Nonetheless, it is definitely breathtaking, with pure white sand and turquoise coloured water.

There are minimal facilities available here, however there is a toilet and a small shack, just set back from the beach that sells drinks and snacks. I think I should learn to take more pictures on this minor corner. I am just too much focus on the natural and myself..

The sea view is really astounding. The water visibility, when its that clear you really get a sense of how deep and massive the sea is. Oh yeah, alot people are camping here (information grab from nets).. is it?! If there is next time when I am still young, I wish I can camping there a night. Sleeping under the star.. Rock in the rocks.... Come, let's organise it!!!! Lolx...
